Coimmobilization of beta-galactosidase andglucose oxidase in a redox polymer, polyvinylferrocenium perchlorate(PVF+ClO4-), led to the development of anenzyme electrode for the determination of lactose. The amperometricresponse of the electrode was measured at +0.70 V vs. SCE, whichwas due to the electrooxidation of enzymatically producedH2O2. The effects of the substrate and bufferconcentrations as well as the pH on the electrode response wereelucidated.
